weaving rituals
+ a lovely offering
the weaving above is by my daughter, hagan~
as we approach the new year and leave the old one behind, i reflect on what i’m wanting to keep, what i want to let go of, and what newness i want to weave in.
one of the first things i will be doing in the new year is joining hannah for her virtual ‘art of manifestation’ workshop series. have a look and join in the fun if you can! i love that you can sign up for all or one, or a few….. AND there’s a discount for doing it with a friend! (use code Activate&Co-Create). all of hannah’s offerings have been just what i needed and i’m excited to dive into this with her. (and maybe some of you?). :)
as for resolutions, i stopped making them years ago. seems like i never really stuck with them for too long anyway. instead, i will weave in more of who and what brings me joy, be of service in all the ways i can, be love, stay steeped in gratitude, and do my best at being human.
i am also choosing to practice yoshuku - (the japanese art of celebrating in advance)…..i’m envisioning a ship full of those who are causing suffering and dread to our world, heading out to sea as far as anyone can imagine it going. i’m celebrating another ship sailing towards us filled with compassionate leaders, a new vision for humanity and the earth, love and equality for all, restoring our democracy and our trust. YES! listening to astrology updates from pam gregory inspires me to stay positive, not get lost in the dread, and understand that our collective energy and heart coherence is SO important!
here are a few things that bring me joy….. i want to share with you~
exactly a year ago, i received this card from my dear friend carole~ i have a little bundle of notes and cards from her over the years and treasure them all. i love the art on this card, ‘on our bellies looking in’ by jacquelin maloney.
this poem by lucille clifton from my beautiful friend, misty …..
a little love package from my friend hannah. she included two cards, one with a sweet note inside, and an extra blank one to pass along to a friend. i just love that.
these beautiful cards were a gift from carole. they are gorgeously illustrated. if i could be a bird, i would…. and this deck is full of good words and good birds. ;) i’m weaving these cards into my daily routine ~ sipping my morning tea, and drawing a card to sit with, to contemplate, to enjoy. usually the card sits out all day and i come back and forth to it as i am in and out of my studio.
speaking of birds, if you were a bird, what kind of bird would YOU be? i choose osprey and think i’ll do an art journal page honoring them~ want to join me?
i love watching the osprey come and go to their huge nests during nesting season at airlie gardens, also seeing and hearing them fly over in pairs circling above our home. they fascinate me. one day, i’ll be an osprey……. :)
sharing my favorite granola with you!! i created this recipe from different versions of different recipes over the years, and love it.
oven 300*
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup shelled pistachios, lightly chopped
1/2 cup shelled pecans, lightly chopped *(or walnuts)
3/4 - 1 cup chopped dates *(or dried apricots, cranberries, figs, raisins, etc)
dash of cinnamon *(could also add a sprinkle of cardamom)
1/4 - 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil *(or coconut oil)
1/3 cup maple syrup
mix the oats, pistachios, pecans, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. over low heat, mix brown sugar, oil, and maple syrup in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves. add to oat mixture and stir well to incorporate all ingredients. spread granola onto baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes. (stir granola half way through baking time). stir in dried fruit when the granola comes out of the oven and let sit to cool before using or storing in glass jars. delicious with sliced bananas, freshly made hemp milk or your favorite milk or yogurt.
hemp milk
1/4 cup hemp seed
2 cups water
blend on high for 1 -2 minutes until creamy. pour into a glass jar, shake before each use. no need to strain! keep refrigerated.
full of good protein. :)
enjoy!!
and last but not least, let us all believe in the power of kindness and love~ trust our voices and create joy wherever we go. blessings of abundance to you and yours in 2026 and beyond. i look forward to creating with you this year! thanks for being here in my little corner of art and sharing~
wherever you are, i hope this finds you safe, well and feeling the love~ until next time. xo

I cannot tell you how much I love and look forward to these offerings, Kim. They always bring much needed light to my life and I am so grateful!❤️
