for peace
+ what i'm noticing
i’m noticing so many acts of kindness in so many places. the patience, respect and kindness of the girl behind the counter at pomegranate books yesterday as she listened to the person on the other end of the phone and responded back to their questions. giving her time and kindness to them. a conversation that went on and on and on - she responded with such kindness and generosity. i noticed the attention and care she took with each customer, and am reminded that the world is SO FULL of kind and loving people.
at sea level vegan diner the way the wait staff takes time to talk to patrons, takes care of elderly customers and takes pride in sustainable practices for our planet. it’s like a little family in there. an elderly man kept coming up to the counter and kelly was there to help him with whatever he needed each time he walked up. taking time to have little conversations with him, calling him by name, all the while with a kind smile on her face.
in asheville, my dear friend carole’s granddaughter, claire recently organized a beautiful fundraiser for a family friend who was brutally stabbed last december in carrier park. claire’s family and the community came together and raised A LOT of money to support their friend and her family as she still works to pay off medical bills. from food to music to good cheer, they all stepped up to create a lovely time for the community as they supported their friend. MORE of this!!!
everywhere i look people are doing really kind and good things for each other and there are so many ways to show up for people with kindness these days. it’s pretty amazing how a small act of kindness and love can cause a ripple effect and bring peace to the recipient(s).
1000 cranes for peace, and the ‘LOVE LIVES HERE’ poster i made in 2016.
speaking of peace, how about the BUDDHIST MONKS walking for peace!! i am loving following them and their journey as they bring hope and love to the world. each of their faces are beaming with love and light and hope. wow.
let’s all think of the ways we can share acts of kindness with others and make an effort every day to bring a spark of peace and joy to someone who needs it…. the more the better! feel free to share what you are doing, your ideas, or things you are noticing.
here’s to more LOVE, more KINDNESS, and more JOY in 2026.
this sweet little dog, ‘aloka’ (a sanskrit word meaning ‘enlightenment’), who was a stray found in INDIA is at the lead. it’s no coincidence that there is the marking of a heart on his head!! xo
